The Dengate Family Throws a Party

The idea of the reunion originated with 81-year-old Mr Ernest Dengate, of 69, Manor Road, Hastings, and the function was arranged by Mr Cecil Dengate, one of his sons.

In this family there are six brothers and two sisters, ranging from Mr William Dengate, who was born in 1852 and who lives in Stonefield Road, Hastings, to Mrs Skinner (Miss Carrie Dengate), who is 64 and lives in Wakefield.

This gathering was the first at which they had all sat down together to a meal since members of the family left their father's farm at Peasmarsh to start out in life...
