BIOGRAPHY:
James Francis Dengate was born 22 May 1873 in Warriors Mark, Huntingdon County to Christopher and Mary Lowrie Dengate.
The family moved in the autumn of 1890 to Bellwood, Blair County, Pennsylvania, where the family would remain for the rest of their lives.
James Francis married Olive Bair around 1901 in Alliance, Ohio. They had one child, Hazel Frances Dengate who was born in 1903. Three weeks after the birth, Olive Dengate died, and James took Hazel to live with his parents Christopher and Mary, who helped to raise the baby.
The 1910 census shows Christopher, Mary, James Francis and Hazel Frances Dengate living in Bellwood, Pennsylvania.

On the 10 August 1921, James Francis Dengate married Sarah Louise Simpson in Mifflin, Pennsylvania. The couple had two children, Mary Simpson Dengate and George L. Dengate, both born in Bellwood, Pennsylvania.

Sarah Louise Dengate died 19 September 1948 in Bellwood, Pennsylvania.

James Francis Dengate died 25 February 1966 in Bellwood, Pennsylvania and was buried in Logan Valley Cemetery - the same cemetery in which his parents, brother and sister were interred.
