BIOGRAPHY :

Alfred Ashdown was born c. 1809 in Peasmarsh, East Sussex. His occupation throughout much of his life was a grocer in Peasmarsh, East Sussex. Alfred married Hannah unknown and the couple had 7 children; Frances, Thomas, Caroline, Ann, Hannah, Alfred, and William. Alfred Ashdown died 20th June 1887 and was buried in Peasmarsh Church, East Sussex.
